Getting started

This page covers the essentials that are the same no matter which role you hold — signing in, finding your way around and looking after your own account. Once you're comfortable here, head to your role manual for the day-to-day detail.

Signing in

Every flying school has its own private web address (portal), usually in the form:

https://<your-school>.aerokingaviation.com

Your school's address

Your school chooses its own short name (its subdomain), so your link might look like https://highland.aerokingaviation.com. Your school will send you the exact link. Bookmark it — it's your front door to AeroKing.

  1. Open your school's portal link.
  2. Enter the email address your school registered for you and your password.
  3. Select Log in.

You'll land on your personal home dashboard, which is tailored to your role.

First-time sign-in

If an administrator has just created your account, you'll usually receive an email inviting you to set a password. Follow the link in that email to choose your password, then sign in as above.

Forgotten password

  1. On the login screen, select Forgot password?
  2. Enter your email address and submit.
  3. Check your inbox for a reset link and choose a new password.

No reset email?

Check your spam folder first. If it still hasn't arrived, your email address may not be the one on file — ask your school's administrator to confirm it, or to send you a fresh invite.

Finding your way around

AeroKing uses a single top navigation bar. What you see there depends on your role and the permissions you've been given — you'll only ever see the areas you're allowed to use, so your menu may be shorter than a colleague's. That's normal.

Element Where What it does
School logo Far left Returns you to your home dashboard
Menu items Centre Your areas — some open a dropdown of related pages
Badges On a menu item A number means items need attention (e.g. pending requests)
Notifications Top right Alerts for bookings, approvals, expiries and messages
Your name Top right Opens My Settings (your profile)
Log out Top right Signs you out securely

On a phone or tablet?

The menu collapses into a ☰ hamburger button in the top corner. Tap it to open the full menu; it closes automatically when you pick a page.

Notifications

The bell in the top-right corner shows alerts relevant to you — a new booking, an approval you requested, a document about to expire, and so on. A red dot means there's something unread. Select the bell to read and clear them.

The Assistant and feedback

On most pages you'll see two floating buttons in the bottom corner:

  • Assistant — an in-app help chat for quick "how do I…?" questions.
  • Feedback — report a problem or suggest an improvement directly to the AeroKing team.

These are hidden on printable pages (invoices, vouchers, statements and the public lobby board) so they don't appear on your printouts.

Looking after your account

Select your name (top right) to open My Settings. Here you can:

  • Update your contact details (phone, address, emergency contact).
  • Change your password.
  • Set your notification preferences.

Who can change what

You can always edit your own profile. Changing someone else's details, or anything about memberships, roles and billing, is an administrator task — see the Administrator manual.

Signing out

Always select Log out (top right) when you're finished on a shared or public computer. AeroKing fully resets when you log out, so the next person can't see your information.

Next: open the Dashboard overview to understand the big picture, then your role manual.
