Engineer manual¶
Engineers keep the fleet airworthy. Your home is the Fleet — the aircraft register, their maintenance logs and their documents. Your menu is built almost entirely from your capabilities, so an owner can give you access to additional operational areas (like the calendar or members) as your role requires.
Your menu¶
| Menu | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Fleet | The aircraft/simulator register, maintenance and aircraft documents (your home) |
| Schedule | (if granted) Bookings calendar and pending requests |
| Members | (if granted) The people directory |
| Finance | (if granted) Billing and vouchers |
| Office | Your leave, policies and compliance self-service |
| My Settings | Your profile and preferences |
Fleet is always yours; the rest are optional
By default you hold view & edit the fleet, maintenance and the aircraft logbook, plus HR and compliance self-service. Anything else above only appears if an owner has granted you that capability.
Key tasks¶
Log maintenance on an aircraft¶
- Open Fleet and select the aircraft.
- Go to its maintenance log.
- Add an entry and choose the type — squawk, scheduled 50-hour, annual, ARC renewal, AD compliance or repair.
- Record the detail (work done, hours, parts, sign-off) and save.
The log is the aircraft's maintenance history; keeping it current is what makes the fleet's airworthiness status trustworthy.
Keep airworthiness and expiries current¶
On each aircraft's detail page, maintain:
- Airworthiness, insurance, radio licence and pitot-static expiry dates.
- Servicing reminders — by calendar date and by Hobbs hours — with custom labels and lead times.
AeroKing flags items as they approach due, so you can plan work before an aircraft would otherwise be grounded.
Record an aircraft's hours¶
Keep the aircraft's Hobbs / Tach readings up to date so hours-based service reminders stay accurate and flights reconcile against the logbook.
Manage aircraft documents¶
Certificates and airframe records live with the aircraft. Upload new versions as they're renewed — expiry tracking then covers them alongside the reminders above.
Your own leave and compliance¶
Use the Office menu for self-service: request leave, read policies and keep your own compliance and certifications current.
Tips¶
- Log work as you do it — a maintenance history is only useful if it's complete and current.
- Act on reminders early — a scheduled 50-hour or ARC renewal is far easier to plan ahead than to scramble for once an aircraft is grounded.
- Need the calendar or members list? Ask your owner/administrator to grant the capability — the menu item appears as soon as they do.
