Key tasks

See today's lessons

Your Home dashboard opens on today. For the full diary, open Bookings Calendar — your own bookings are highlighted. Select any booking to see its detail (student, aircraft, time, notes).

Grade a flight lesson

  1. Open the lesson from your Bookings Calendar or My Students, or go to Assessments → new.
  2. Record the exercises covered and a grade for each.
  3. Add debrief notes and the weather / conditions.
  4. Save. The student's progress and the course record update immediately, and the student can read the debrief in their own portal.

Grade a ground school session

Use Assessments → ground assessment for ground-school or briefing sessions. It works the same way as a flight assessment but is tailored to ground exercises.

Why can I grade but an admin can't?

Grading is controlled by the submit assessments capability, which instructors hold by default. An owner can grant it to others too — so don't be surprised if a senior admin can also grade.

Track a student's progress

  1. Go to My Students and open a student.
  2. You'll see their position against the syllabus, completed exercises, grades and hours.
  3. Use this before a lesson to pick up where they left off, and after to confirm the record updated.

Record your own flying

Your My Flight Logs page is your personal pilot logbook — PIC, dual given, instructor time, night/IFR/cross-country conditions and landings, per aircraft. You can print it from Pilot's Logbook → print for your paper records or a licence application.

Book leave or read a policy

Open the Office menu for self-service HR: request leave, check the team calendar, read policies and keep your certifications and compliance items up to date. Your leave requests go to whoever holds HR administration (usually an administrator) for approval.

Tips

  • Grade promptly after the flight while the debrief is fresh — the student sees it and their progress stays accurate.
  • Check the student's progress before each lesson so you start at the right exercise.
  • Keep your own certifications current in the Office area; expiries are tracked and flagged.
